I saw a lot of films in the last couple of months.
Little Miss Sunshine :泣いて笑って、私の大好きな映画がまた１本増えました。先日のアカデミー賞ではオリジナル脚本賞とナイスなおじいちゃんが助演男優賞を獲得しました。
I laughed a lot and cried a lot. I couldn't help sympathise the brother... This little film has become one of my favourite films. It won Best Original Screenplay and Best Actor in a Supporting Role. It is not the greatest film or anything but you might like it as well ;-)
An Inconvenient Truth - 不都合な真実 :元米副大統領アル・ゴア氏が地球の温暖化問題について世界中の人々に訴えて回っていたときの模様をドキュメンタリー化した作品です。とにかく彼の素晴らしい”スピーチ”に圧倒され、聞き入ってしまいました。とても意味のある映画だと思います。これもオスカー獲得作品となりました。
The former Vice President Al Gore had been lecturing on global warming around the world and it's made into a documentary. It is a very important film for all of us living on this planet. I also liked the "performance" with hybrid-car driving Leonard DiCaprio during the Academy.
The Hours - めぐりあう時間たち :公開時に映画館で見て以来、２回目ですが、もっと好きになりました。とにかくニコール・キッドマン、ジュリアン・ムーア、メリル・ストリープがみんな素晴らしく映画もとても叙情的です。違う時代に生きる３人の話が同時進行するのですが、共通した”物”を使って別の話に移ったり、３人が繋がっている様子がとても美しく描かれています。この３人の主演女優はみんな原作の素晴らしさと映画の出来上がりにとても満足しているようで、二コール・キッドマンはインタビューで、映画を見たときあまりにきれいな映画になったので嬉しくて２人に花束を贈った、と言っていました。
I saw this film at the cinema and really liked it. This was first time to watch it since then. Nicole Kidman and Julian Moore, and Meryl Streep were absolutely fantastic in it and their three different stories are told at the same time. Those three stories are connected, although they are happening in different time, and are beautifully told throughout the film.
Marie Antoinette :期待値を下げたけどとっても退屈でしたぁ〜。ソフィア・コッポラがどういう映画にしたかったのかまったくわからず、なんだか散らかった映画でした。

I had lowered my expectations as much as possible, but...
It was one of the most boring films I've ever seen. I couldn't tell what she was trying to do with this film.
The Virgin Suicides :そこで見たのが彼女の監督デビュー作品ヴァージン・スーサイズ。こっちはやりたいことが分った気がした。明確なビジョンがあって、彼女にとってもそれをきちんと映像化出来た作品だったんじゃないかと思う。彼女の作品ではやっぱりロスト・イン・トランスレーションが一番です。次の作品に期待。ジョシュ・ハートネット面白かったなぁ。
I watched Virgin Suicides a week after I saw MA, and I quite liked it. She had clear vision and successfully put it into the film. Well, at least I thought so. I still like Lost In Translation the best.
The Departed :予想以上に楽しみました。話の展開を知っていてもドキドキしながらみたし、ディカプリオの気合の入った演技に引き込まれました。ジャック・ニコルソンはクレイジーだしマーク・ウォルバーグは髪型可笑しいし見所（?!）満載。若干ハリウッド的で私の好きなスコセッシ作品とは違ったけど、彼の最近の作品の中では一番良かったです。作品賞までとっちゃいましたね。でもこれで監督賞とるならタクシー・ドライバーやグッドフェローズ、レイジング・ブルはどうなる？？という気がしてならない．．．ちなみに私のオススメスコセッシ映画は断然『アリスの恋』です。見ていない人は是非！（暴力なしです。）
I really enjoyed this Scorsese film more than I thought. It's intense and has got brilliant performances, especially from DiCaprio. Although, I can't help thinking that Scorsese's style has been changed. The Departed is too Hollywood-like compared to his other films. If he's the best director in 2006 for this film, what would you say about Taxi Driver or Good Fellas, or Raging Bull? (Although, incidentally, my favourite Scorsese film is Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore.) I guess that's Academy's problem, not his... Nevertheless, I'm happy Mr Scorsese finally won the Oscar and I believe so is every movie fan in the world.
Lotta på Bråkmakargatan - ロッタちゃんと赤い自転車Lotta 2 - Lotta flyttar hemifrån - ロッタちゃん はじめてのおつかい :
北欧の言葉が聞きたくなって久し振りに見ました。うーん、やっぱりロッタちゃんは生意気過ぎ！癇癪は起こすし（その時の叫び声がまた凄い！）お見舞いに行った隣のおばさんに「おつかいに行って来てあげる」と言いお金をもらうと「あの店にはキャンディーも売ってるわ」と言ってさらにお金をもらうずる賢さ！！でも、ただかわいいだけじゃないところがこの映画の面白い所かも。スウェーデンに行ってみたくなります。
I wanted to hear some Scandinavian language so I watched these two films: A Clever Little Girl Like Lotta and the sequence. Lotta gets hysterical (her voice when she does...!!) and yes, very "clever". She asks for more money to buy a candy when she goes to buy a newspaper for her neighbour who is sick in bed. If these films are just sweet little films, it's still OK, but I like them because it's fun to watch her do such things :P I would love to go to Sweden to see how children over there behave, haha!
The Third Man - 第三の男 :やはり私はオーソン・ウェルズと相性が合わないようです。この映画の何が面白いのかよくわからない。ラストシーンは良かったけど、特に何も起らないし、ふーん・・・という感じでした。あるシーンに出てくる観覧車は実は乗った事があり、好きな映画『恋人までのディスタンス』（何度聞いても嫌なタイトルだ．．．）にも出てくるので、あーこれだ！と思ったのがハイライトかな。他には影とクロースアップの使い方がカッコいい映画でした。
Orson Welles....I think I really should avoid him.... Well, OK, here's what I like about his film: use of shadows and close-ups, the famous giant big wheel, and the last scene. And Alida Valli, who died last year, is great in it but is it really one of the greatest films of all time? Why?
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? - バージニア・ウルフなんかこわくない :
今まで沢山の映画を見て来たけど、これが一番クレイジーな映画かもしれない！登場人物、場面転換の少なさから、もとはお芝居だったのかな、と思ってみてたけど、やっぱりそうでした。これは是非舞台で見てみたい。お互いを罵倒しまくる夫婦と、それを聞かされるはめになった若い夫婦の４人のそれぞれの事情が徐々に分ってくる、という話。とにかく主役２人の迫力が半端じゃないです。体力勝負、って感じの演技です。
What a film!! This is probably the craziest film I've ever seen. It's a story about a couple who keep abusing each other and another couple who have to suffer through that abuse, and eventually these drunken couples' secrets are revealed. Both of the main actors (one is fantastic Elizabeth Taylor) must be exhausted because they are shouting pretty much all the time!
Infernal Affairs :デパーテッドのオリジナルを見直してみる事にしました。想像以上に展開が同じだったけど、オリジナルは驚くほど淡白な描き方で、リメイクの方が人物描写が細かかった。そういう意味ではリメイクの方が好きかもしれない。でもエンディングは絶対オリジナルの方がいい。
The story was almost exactly the same, except the ending, but the characters are described more detailed in the remake and that's why I probably like The Departed more. The original is a little too plain, I thought. But the ending is much better in the original: The Departed is too Hollywood or American perhaps.
