I watched In Cold Blood. I wanted to see it before going to see Capote which has just started here in Japan. I have tons of videos and I remember I have this film on video and I found it. (I don't know why I can do it.) I enjoyed this an intence film very much. Towards the end, it got more and more intense and it reminded me of some film, which I shouldn't reveal here. (I know people would disagree but) they both have same effect on me.
I really like reading some information (mainly on IMdb) after I saw a great film. So I was reading trivia on the film and I found that Anthony Hopkins watched Robert Blake's performance in In Cold Blood several times to prepare for the role of Hannibal Lecter.
After over five years since I moved here, I still have too many video tapes that I have recorded so many films on in lousy boxes, and I have always, always wanted to watch all the films I've got so that I could reduce the number of tapes but there hasn't been much progress. Still, I remember what I taped and what not and I can find what I want to see. Yes, I knew I taped In Cold Blood somewhere and I could find it mysteriously. (It was an old tape, of course, and I had difficulties reading subtitles sometimes but it wasn't a big problem.)
Anyway, now I'm ready to read In Cold Blood and go see Capote.
(And I learnt this film isn't categorised as Film Noir because it's not made between early 1940's and late 1950's. Interesting.)
